On Thursday, July 17, 2025, Jani-King of Ottawa hosted its annual Franchisee Appreciation Barbecue, bringing together local franchisees for a day filled with good food, great company, and plenty of fun. Despite a looming tornado warning, the event was a huge success, and everyone had a blast! It was the perfect opportunity for our franchisees to relax, share success stories, discuss best practices, and enjoy some friendly competition, all while soaking up the summer sun.
This year’s barbecue saw an incredible turnout, with everyone excited to network and connect in a laid-back, festive environment. As usual, the BBQ was loaded with delicious food and drinks, providing the perfect backdrop for lively conversation. Franchisees exchanged tips, celebrated each other’s achievements, and even had a little fun with some prizes. Speaking of prizes, we’re excited to announce the lucky winners who took home some fantastic rewards: Abdullah Al-Badarneh won a gorgeous gift basket, Dawit Tesfamichael and Vicente Ramons each took home a $100 cash prize, and Misghina Kidane walked away with the grand prize of a $300 cash prize! It was an exciting moment for everyone involved, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see our franchisees rewarded for their hard work and dedication.
As the event wrapped up, just as we were about to call it a day, the skies darkened and another tornado warning was issued! Thankfully, our team was on the ball, and we managed to finish up the barbecue just before the rain hit, avoiding the worst of the storm. It made for quite an adrenaline-filled end to the day, but we’re so glad everyone got home safely and without a hitch.
