
Chris Crawley has been a valued member of the Jani-King family for 35 years, making him the longest-serving Franchise Owner in Canada. Chris first joined Jani-King after working with Murray Oxford, now the President of Jani-King Canada, who offered him the opportunity to purchase a franchise. Reflecting on his early years with the company, Chris credits the support and guidance provided by the Jani-King Nova Scotia Regional Office as a key factor in his long-term success. Throughout his 35-year journey, Chris has witnessed significant growth within both the company and the industry, including the expansion of accounts beyond city limits and the continued development of the Regional Office. He believes Jani-King’s success has been driven by a commitment to continuous improvement, learning, and adaptation over the years. Despite decades in the business, Chris still genuinely enjoys his work and says he continues to look forward to each day, noting that it has never simply felt like a job to him.
Chris is most proud of the opportunities franchise ownership has provided for him and his family. Through his Jani-King franchise, he was able to purchase a home, build a successful future, and eventually welcome his son into the business. Many of the personal and professional milestones he achieved were once goals he did not think possible. He attributes much of his success to perseverance, hard work, and taking advantage of the support and resources available through the Regional Office.
When offering advice to new Franchise Owners, Chris emphasizes the importance of utilizing the resources and support systems available to them and remaining committed through both the challenges and rewards of business ownership. While there were difficult periods throughout his journey, he believes those experiences ultimately made the successes even more meaningful. Chris speaks highly of the Jani-King Nova Scotia Regional Office and credits their ongoing support as instrumental in helping him maintain long-standing client relationships and continue growing his business over the years. According to Chris, success within the Jani-King system is achievable for those willing to stay focused, work hard, and embrace the opportunities available to them.
