At Jani-King of Eastern Ontario, we believe that making a positive impact goes beyond keeping workplaces clean. It means giving back to the communities where we live and work, supporting organizations that make a real difference, and volunteering our time to help those who need it most. That is why we were proud to participate in the United Way Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington (KFL&A) Day of Caring, one of the region’s largest annual volunteer initiatives. For more than 25 years, Day of Caring has brought together local businesses, organizations, and community members to complete meaningful projects for local agencies across the region. This year’s event was the largest yet, with more than 520 volunteers from 38 workplaces coming together to complete projects at 50 local agency sites throughout KFL&A.
The day began with a community kick-off event before volunteer teams headed out across the region to tackle a wide variety of projects, including gardening, painting, repairs, landscaping, cleaning, and outdoor improvements. These projects provide valuable support to local organizations that often lack the time and financial resources to complete them on their own. Our Jani-King of Eastern Ontario team was honoured to volunteer at Ryandale Fieldstone, where we spent the day helping enhance the outdoor spaces for residents. Our team worked together to prepare garden beds, plant native species, refresh landscaping, and improve common outdoor areas, creating a more welcoming environment for everyone who calls Ryandale Fieldstone home.
In addition to volunteering our time, we were pleased to donate supplies to help support this incredible community initiative. We believe every contribution—whether through volunteer hours, resources, or partnerships—helps build stronger, healthier communities. Events like Day of Caring remind us that meaningful change happens when businesses, non-profit organizations, and community members work together toward a common goal. It was inspiring to see hundreds of volunteers across Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox, and Addington rolling up their sleeves to support organizations that provide essential services to more than 54,000 people each year. Community involvement has always been an important part of who we are at Jani-King of Eastern Ontario. While we take pride in delivering professional commercial cleaning services across Eastern Ontario, we are equally proud to invest in initiatives that improve the quality of life in the communities we serve.
We extend our sincere thanks to United Way KFL&A, the dedicated Day of Caring organizing committee, the staff at Ryandale Fieldstone for welcoming us, and every volunteer who contributed their time and energy to make this year’s event such a tremendous success. Together, we demonstrated what can be accomplished when a community comes together with a shared purpose. We look forward to continuing to support initiatives like Day of Caring and helping build stronger, healthier communities across Eastern Ontario—one project at a time.
