April 2016 marked the first-ever #franchiseawareness day on Parliament Hill. Organized by the Canadian Franchise Association (CFA), more than 60 Presidents and CEO’s of franchise systems met with politicians from across Canada to educate them about franchising and its positive contribution to Canada’s economy.
Jani-King Canada’s President, Murray Oxford, had the chance to speak with Red Deer – Mountain View MP, Earl Dreeshen.
“ Our franchise awareness day on Parliament Hill was a tremendous success. MP’s were engaged and supportive of the CFA’s advocacy efforts,” says Murray.
Did you know…
- Franchising directly and indirectly employs 1 in every 14 working Canadians
- Franchising contributes over $68 billion to Canada’s economy every year
- Franchises have a positive impact on the communities in which they operate
Many people see no difference between a franchise and a corporate chain store, but there is one big difference. Franchise systems create an opportunity for so many individuals in Canada to actually own their own business.
